Cyprus and Nicaragua signed on Wednesday a memorandum of political deliberations between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs and a cooperation agreement on tourism.
The two agreements were signed here by the Foreign Ministers of the two countries Marcos Kyprianou and Samuel Santos Lopez, who had previously a tete-a tete meeting and official talks in the presence of their respective delegations.
Kyprianou and Lopez discussed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries as well as the Cyprus problem while later on they were due to exchange views on the situation in North Africa and the Middle East.
Speaking through an interpreter, Lopez expressed his country’s position in favour of Cyprus’ reunification through dialogue, and noted that historically Cyprus and Nicaragua have always been together and Cyprus had always helped Nicaragua during difficult periods in its history.

He said that there are expectations for Cypriot businessmen to invest in Nicaragua, which is one of the most secure states in Central America, as he noted.
